Everyone knows the advantages of reusing and recycling materials: conserve resources, save landfill space, reduce pollution and so much more. Programs and initiatives are being promoted in neighborhoods all across the country. It’s especially pleasing to see businesses not only recycling, but creating a market out of reusing old materials. Here are some Ohio companies doing just that.
EnviroFlight Dayton OH
EnviroFlight, located in Yellow Springs near Dayton, aims to lead transformative change in our global food supply. Their mission is “to develop sustainable animal and plant nutrients using regionally available, low-value materials.” EnviroFlight uses the co-product from breweries, ethanol production and food waste as feedstock for fly larvae. Insect waste product is then used as feed for fish, poultry and cattle.
Rustic Refinery Cincinnati OH
Rustic Refinery in Cincinnati creates hand-crafted furniture from their Oakley shop, using ONLY recycled materials. Reclaimed metal and wood, on average over 100 years old, are used to design hundreds of pieces, many of them custom orders. Add some character to your home with elegant furniture crafted 100% in the U.S.
In addition, a company in Magnolia takes wood from barns and other structures for plank flooring. An Akron company reclaims goods from old factories and homes for creative uses. A nonprofit warehouse in Canton helps needy families by supplying used building materials.
Frog Hauling is proud of these and all Ohio companies for doing their part for a cleaner, safer environment. Frog Hauling makes every effort to reuse, recycle or properly dispose of all materials placed into our dumpsters.
