America Recycles Week In Ohio!
This week marks an occasion that could be celebrated every day. November 9-15 is America Recycles Week. This is a program sponsored by the Keep America Beautiful organization. States across the country are participating in this annual celebration of our beautiful earth and its preservation. Ohio is no exception.
Ohio will again recognize this special week, ending with America Recycles Day Nov. 15. The goal of this initiative is to motivate both the public and private sectors to protect our environment and reevaluate current practices to improve overall quality of life. Ohio already has its own version of this wonderful effort known as Keep Ohio Beautiful. The nonprofit works to empower Ohio communities through education, increasing public and private responsibility, and promoting volunteerism.

Biofuels are a hot topic these days amongst scientists and environmentalists alike. The goal is simple: find and develop alternatives to fossil fuels. The traditional sources of biofuel, most notably corn and sugar, while effective, pose the problem of supply and demand. This has been the biggest obstacle to developing biofuels, finding sources that are not in high demand. Recent developments are aimed at accomplishing both goals by using non-food sources.
