Wind to Power 25 Percent of Ohio State University
Blue Creek Wind Farm will be providing 25 percent of the energy to Ohio State’s main campus in Columbus, OH. This amounts to 50 megawatts of wind energy, a renewable resource. American Electric Power in Columbus will transmit the power from the wind farm to the university. This deal helps OSU reduce its carbon footprint, a goal the university has established. In addition to the power provided, Ohio State also has access to Blue Creek Wind Farm for research.
