How Does a CSA Work?
In a CSA, one or morelocal Columbus Ohio farms raise and tend a large garden or farm, raise chickens, and possibly even have goats, pigs, and cattle. Several times a week they portion the harvest from the farm and deliver the rich local goodness to your neighborhood. Some CSA’s will even deliver directly to your door. You pay by the season (quarterly) an amount usually between $200 to $400 dollars according to the size of the delivery. The average price per pound usually is lower than buying organic vegetables at the store.
Save money and time. No more time wasted weighing plastic baggies at the supermarket; you have your organics delivered to you from the family farmers themselves.

Support the education and continuation of the family farm.
Importantly, when you buy your family’s vegetables, eggs, chicken, and beef from a local farm you are supporting the people who are maintaining the values and the knowledge of raising animals and growing market sized gardens. These farms usually double as educational resource centers and are harbingers of the human knowledge database of gardening techniques, secrets, and methods.
