Hey now. So you might have seen these stories about dumpster swimming pools and other cool creative uses for dumpster containers such as ping pong tables, living room lounges, furniture, mini parks, and skate board ramps. Well here are a couple of creative environmentally friendly uses for dumpsters in Columbus, Ohio.
1. Dumpsters have recently been used outside of grocery stores for food scraps, like giant temporary compost bins. Kroger and other large grocery stores throw away tons of produce every day. Now, Kroger, along with creative environmentally and market savvy individuals, is turning this waste into profit and nutrients by using large dumpsters to collects the food waste and take the food scraps to large scale composting centers and worm bin composting sites. Kudos to Kroger and other large grocery stores for taking part in the restoration of soil, and turning what was waste into a resource!
2. Catwalks? That’s right, Catwalks! Recently an event held in downtown Cincinnati, Ohio featured a fashion show that utilized a dumpster container as the runway. A very urban grungy backdrop indeed for a fashion show that takes place among the skyscrapers, bricks, and streets of downtown. The audience loved it and the creative approach was applauded by art and fashion fans all over Ohio.
Thank you Kroger for being a supporter of a healthy Ohio!
