Carpenter Fail #2

Frog Hauling | September 3, 2014

carpenter fail creates JunkDo Not Paint Light Switch Covers, Ethernet or Phone Jack covers, Rookie.

Hey Rookie.

There is nothing more amateur than painting a light switch cover. Light switch covers, ethernet or phone jack covers are designed to be added after you paint. Once added after the paint outlet covers cover the entire whole needed for the electric outlet installation. The cover will sit nicely on top of the painted wall.

Pictured is a ruined phone jack outlet that the internet provider was not able to use, because some rookie painted the phone jack making our Carpenter Fail list along with our fence fail #1

Covers are relatively cheap but add a great deal to compliment a room. For a couple of dollars outlet covers can be replaced giving your paint sharp relief between the floorboards and outlet covers. Outlet Covers should be clean and paint free.

Most are a type of plastic that do not take paint well.
You can ruin a phone jack or ethernet jack outlet by painting over it.

To clean a light switch cover wipe it with a damp cloth.

Before you paint prepare your area. Paint prep starts with removing light switch covers. use a piece of tape to attach the screws for the light switch cover to the backside of the cover so you do not lose the screws.

Congratulations ametuer painter, you make our Carpenter Fail List at #3.
