Columbus’s Office of Environmental Stewardship helps keep the planning of your eco-friendly event as easily navigated as possible, through comprehensible guides, resources, checklists, and directories.

1. A comprehensive Green Event Guide concisely walks you through the ins and outs of:

• Obtaining a portable drinking fountain
• Coordinating public transportation
• Establishing environmental policies
• Conserving fuel
• Also provided is a list of environmental organizations you can contact to host a free booth at your event to help educate your guests on environmental topics
• Even find out how to have your event solar or wind-powered!

2. Printable labels for recycling, compost, and garbage receptacles to help your guests and/or attendants sort the recyclables, compostables, and the waste into the proper container.

3. Printable recyclable materials guides, detailing what can and cannot be recycled at your event.

4. A provided, customizable statement of goals (download) for sustainability and recycling protocol you can share with vendors and attendees

Also included on the guide’s checklist is obtaining a private junk hauler and containers to be placed throughout the event space!
